Small Town breast milk keepsakes are handcrafted. Therefore, every piece will be different and unique. No two breast milk samples will ever be the same! Colors, textures, amount of inclusions are all factors in the end result of a piece. No two resin pours, or sparkle pours will ever be the same. Common variations in handmade keepsake jewelry under close inspection include, tiny air bubbles, mold lines, evidence of hand shaping, tough edges. The placement of hair strands also cannot be controlled due to how each hair sample is different and how it reacts to the varies materials we use to create the item including our jewelry grade resin component.

The variations listed above will not be considered “mistakes” or “faults” and will never be remade or refunded.

By purchasing from Small Town, you have chosen a handcrafted piece and may see evidence of that in your final piece. 

TURN AROUND TIME

CURRENT TURN AROUND TIME IS 8 WEEKS! It could very well be completed before that. If you need by a certain date, please email smalltownBK@gmail.com for expedite costs.

Whether you are dropping your milk off, or picking it up, you will receive an email/text with detailed shipping information AFTER your order is placed. I ship anywhere in the United States! 

YOUR MILK 

.5 oz of milk will be needed per item purchased. Milk can be fresh or frozen. Age of milk also does not affect the preservation process. 

 

*** If you are ordering an item with more than one section for milk, and want to use 2 DIFFERENT milks separately in two different sections -- you MUST pay a $15.00 fee for the processing of the second milk. The fee is under listing "additional milk fee" *** if you are using 2 different milks and want to mix them together -- do that PRIOR to sending in your milk. This fee is only if you want the milk completely separate in the same piece. If you are ordering two DIFFERENT items and want 1 milk in 1, and 1 milk in the other -- PLEASE label your bags with which milk goes in what piece.

JEWELRY CARE 

Do not use any chemicals or soaps to clean your jewelry. It is best to use only the polishing cloth that I include with your order.

Do not submerge your jewelry in water. 

Remove prior to bathing,swimming and hand washing.

Do not leave your jewelry in the sun or heat (like leaving it in a hot car). Long exposures to heat can cause the resin to yellow over time.

When you are not wearing your jewelry, please keep it in the airtight bag that it came in.

Sterling silver can tarnish over time which is why I include the silver polishing cloth in your order. It can help keep your silver bright and shiny!

Avoid all soaps, cleaners, shampoos, lotions, perfumes and other topical products when wearing your jewelry.

Do not wear your jewelry while sleeping the friction of rubbing up against material such as a blanket or pillow can cause the stone to loosen, become brittle and may fall out, small dainty metal work can also get snagged, bent or snapped. (WHO KNEW?!)

Rose gold plated and gold plated items that are not cared for properly or worn often plating can rub off as it is a thin layer, this is a risk that is taken when purchasing and will be stated on every rose gold plated and yellow gold item listing!! Every item has sterling silver under it. So if your plating does start to rub off - it will end in a silver tone! 

We do not recommend resizing due to your piece not being able to withstand intense heat. This is why I most commonly do adjustable rings. 

Small Town Clothing Co is not responsible for any damage or loss occurring to your jewelry as a result of improper care and maintenance. 

COLORING OF YOUR ITEM

Small Town Breast Milk Keepsakes are made to last a lifetime with proper care!! If you care for your piece like you would any other special keepsake, it will never rot or discolor.

 

WHEN CAN I SEND IN MY MILK?

Once you receive your shipping instructions, you have 12 months to send in your milk. Please note, your turn around time only STARTS once milk is received and checked in.

 

 IMPORTANT!!

If a piece of breast milk jewelry is going to discolor due to a milk preservation error, it will happen within the first 3 months.  For this reason, we offer a 3 month guarantee on our breast milk jewelry. This guarantee is only valid if there is a milk preservation error, a stone falls out, a part of the jewelry is clearly defective. We STRIVE to make sure all of our customers are satisfied which is why we include all of this in our guarantee.  

It is very important to follow all of our jewelry care instructions such as not bathing or showering with your jewelry on, exposing it to direct sunlight or prolonged heat, chemicals, or submerging it in water. Your breast milk jewelry is coated in a high quality jeweler's resin which is a hard plastic.  Mistreatment and improper care of your precious jewelry can lead to discoloration or warping of the piece.

If your jewelry becomes discolored before 3 months from the time your order was finished, we will be happy to examine the jewelry.  If in our professional opinion, the milk jewelry has discolored as a result of a milk preservation error and not due to improper jewelry care, we will remake the piece for you at the cost of shipping.  We reserve a small amount of milk from all orders in case of an emergency for up to 3 months and your spare milk will be used to replicate your piece.  After 3 months the remaining milk will be discarded and you would be required to provide more milk for your replacement.

WE CANNOT SEND BACK ANY LEFT OVER MILK THAT HAS BEEN FULLY PRESERVED OR PARTIALLY PRESERVED.

 

CHANGES TO ORDERS: 

Any requests to change an order must be done within a 24 hr time frame after the order was placed. once the 24 hr time frame has passed we do no allow changes. Settings are custom ordered we DO NOT keep a stock in! We order all settings after the 24 hour time frame. If a change of size is needed for Sterling silver and stainless steel a $45 fee will be applied after the 24hrs.

This is due to ordering each setting individually, we do not keep a stock in hand.

 

LIABILITY POLICY:

Please be aware that by purchasing a keepsake from SMALL TOWN CLOTHING CO, and sending in your inclusions that you free Small Town Clothing Co, the owner/designer, Brooke Moyer, and all estate and associates of Brooke Moyer from any liability of your inclusions.  It is requested above that you DO NOT send the very last of any of your inclusions and that you reserve some at home.  For inclusions that you send, we are released from ALL liability or legal pursuit for any accidents or loss to your inclusions including a fire, flood, studio robbery, Act of God, or other accidents.  Your order and sending of inclusions implies your agreement and understanding of this policy.

 

RETURN/REFUND POLICY:

WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RETURNS OR EXCHANGES IF RING SIZE ORDERED DOES NOT FIT. PLEASE BE 100% ON RING SIZE BEFORE ORDERING. IF A DIFFERENT SIZE IS NEEDED THERE WILL BE FEES

Upon receiving your order, you have THREE (3) days to contact Small Town Clothing Co regarding an exchange or remake of your jewelry. We DO NOT offer refunds of any kind. When contacting us regarding concerns about your jewelry, please send clear photos and a detailed description of your issue to smalltownBK@gmail.com.

 

Each complaint is judged by the creator on a case by case basis. We will not remake or accept a return on a ring for incorrect sizing on the customers error, we order our rings custom to each order and do not keep a stock, a new setting will be subject to a fee and the stone may have to be remade depending on the ring design, in this case it will be considered a brand new order as this is extra work on our end. We offer exchanges or remakes when an item has a clear fault beyond the normal range of handmade variations.  You can see definitions of what is considered normal variations in our handmade jewelry above. Determining if a design concern is warranting an exchange, modification, or remake is at the discretion of the creator, case by case. Note that variations such as small air bubbles within the piece, mold lines, evidence of hand forming and hand sanding, bead caps not sitting 100% flush, and other small imperfections are all within the normal range of handmade jewelry. By purchasing from Small Town Clothing Co, you understand that your piece will not be 100% “flawless”.

 

Exchanges or remakes are not covered by Small Town Clothing Co if it has been longer than three days since you received your jewelry and failed to promptly notify us of your concerns or if the designer has determined that your jewelry concerns fall within the normal range of handmade variations.  You must send your jewelry back to us and have it in our hands within TWO WEEKS from date issue was addressed with us (14 days) of reporting the faulty jewelry to us.

Small Town Clothing Co is not, under any circumstances, responsible for loss and/or damage in shipping.  We do not take responsibility for other businesses and their handling such as the United States Postal Service and other mail carriers. 

SHIPPING INFO 

SHIPPING ISSUES-

Please be aware that insured shipping does not cover theft, it only covers damaged items or lost packages (not deemed delivered). Insurance also does not include refund value of any kind, insurance is only to cover remakes at the value cost chosen at checkout.

 

STONE RING RESETTING OR REPLACEMENT

If your inclusion stone falls out of a ring setting and you are able to locate the stone, we will repair it for free for 60 days from the time you received your original order (you are responsible for shipping charges). After the 60 day mark a $10 (plus shipping) resetting fee will be in place even if you still have the original stone. If the stone is lost we can make and set a new stone (you may need to ship more milk).

Please contact us through email, smalltownBK@gmail.com or through to set up the repair BEFORE shipping the jewelry. You are responsible for shipping the jewelry and any costs associated with shipping.

All of our items are sterling silver, and stainless steel. If you see “rose gold plated” or “gold plated” this means  thin layer of the said color was applied over sterling silver. 

Sterling silver is an alloy metal that is 92.5 % sterling and a mix metal to help with hardness. 

Some sterling silver can have a rhodium plating to help with tarnish resistance. Not all sterling will have this but with proper care you can prevent tarnish!

Sterling silver (even with rhodium plating) CAN tarnish over time. Tarnish is not a fault in the jewelry but a reaction between the metal and chemicals in your environment.

 

❤️Sterling silver can be polished with a silver polishing cloth to keep tarnish away.

By purchasing one of our item in our shop you are agreeing to these terms of service, these services also include improper care and use of your jewelry. Tarnish is NOT a fault in our production, it is a result of improper care and wear of a jewelry item.

A care card is added to every package to educate all customers on how to proper clean and care for your jewelry.

*Gold plated and rose gold plated items may fade over time. This is not something that Small Town Clothing Co can control as we do not manufacture the plated settings and is inevitable when working with plated items. Longevity of a plated piece will depend on how you care for and how often it is worn. By purchasing this item in either version you are under agreement that Small Town Clothing Co  is not liable for these factors and will purchase at your own risk, If this is an issue please select the Sterling Silver version instead.
